Privacy Policy for Save the Monkey
Effective Date: 1st Sep 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the mobile game Save The Monkey ("the Game", "we", "us", "our"), published by CodeDrift Studio ("the Developer").
Android application ID: com.cds.savethemonkey
By downloading or using the Game, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.
1. Introduction
Save The Monkey is a casual, single-player arcade game. It has no user accounts that you register for, no login screen, no social features, and no in-game purchases.
The Game itself does not ask you for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or precise (GPS) location, and it does not contain features that collect any of those.
To run the Game, show advertising, understand how the Game is performing, and fix crashes, the Game uses a small number of Google services (Firebase and Google AdMob). Those services collect limited technical and usage information as described below. This policy describes what the Game stores on your device and what those third-party services process.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information the Game collects directly
The Game does not operate its own servers and does not directly collect or transmit personal information about you. The only information the Game creates is stored locally on your device (see Section 3).
2.2 Information collected through third-party services
When the Game runs, the following categories of information may be collected and processed by the third-party services integrated into the Game:
| Category | Collected via | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Anonymous Firebase user identifier | Firebase Authentication | A randomly generated ID. Not linked to your name, email, or any account you register. |
| App instance / installation identifiers | Firebase (Analytics, Installations, Crashlytics) | Used to group events and crash reports from the same installation. |
| Device and app information | Firebase, AdMob | Device model, operating system and version, language/region, app version, and similar technical attributes. |
| Approximate location (derived from IP address) | Firebase, AdMob | Coarse, country/region-level. The Game does not access GPS or device location. |
| Gameplay and app-usage events | Firebase Analytics | See Section 6 for the exact list of events. |
| Crash and diagnostic information | Firebase Crashlytics | Stack traces, device state at time of crash, app version, and limited custom keys (see Section 7). |
| Advertising identifiers and ad-interaction data | Google AdMob / Google | Advertising ID and ad request, impression, and click information, subject to your device settings and consent (see Sections 5 and 8). |
We do not knowingly collect special categories of data (such as health, religion, or precise location), and we do not sell your personal information.
3. Information Stored Locally
The Game stores a small amount of data on your device using Android's local preferences storage. This data stays on your device, is not synced to any cloud account by the Game, and is removed when you uninstall the Game or clear its data.
Locally stored values:
- Best score — your highest score.
- Music setting — on/off.
- Sound effects setting — on/off.
- Vibration (haptics) setting — on/off.
- A device-local technical key used only to protect the values above from casual tampering. It is derived on your device, never transmitted, and is not used to identify or track you.
The Game does not store your progress, scores, or settings on any server operated by CodeDrift Studio.
4. Firebase Services
The Game uses Google Firebase. Firebase is provided by Google and its data practices are described in the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation and the Google Privacy Policy.
4.1 Firebase Authentication (Anonymous)
The Game signs you in anonymously with Firebase. This means:
- Firebase assigns a unique, randomly generated identifier to the app installation.
- There is no registration, no username or password, and no Google, email, or social-media account login.
- The anonymous identifier is not connected to your real-world identity.
- The anonymous identity is stored on your device and reused on later launches. If you uninstall and reinstall the Game, or clear its data, a new anonymous identity is created.
The anonymous identifier is used to provide a consistent app session, to associate crash reports with an installation, and to support the reliable operation of the other Firebase features.
4.2 Firebase Analytics
See Section 6.
4.3 Firebase Crashlytics
See Section 7.
5. Advertising and AdMob
The Game displays advertising through Google AdMob. The ad formats currently used are:
- Banner ads — a small banner shown at the bottom of the screen during the menu and gameplay.
- Interstitial ads — occasional full-screen ads shown between game sessions (for example, when starting a game or returning to the menu), subject to frequency limits.
The Game does not use rewarded ads, rewarded interstitials, app-open ads, native ads, or ad mediation.
To serve and measure ads, Google and its ad partners may process information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address (used to infer coarse location), device and app information, and information about how you interact with ads (for example, that an ad was requested, shown, or clicked). This information is used for purposes including displaying ads, limiting how often you see the same ad, measuring ad performance, and detecting invalid activity and fraud.
Whether you receive personalized (interest-based) or non-personalized ads depends on your location, applicable law, your device settings, and the choices you make in the consent prompt described in Section 8.
More information about how Google uses data in connection with advertising is available at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and Google Ads / AdMob policies.
You can reset or limit ad personalization at the device level through your Android settings ("Privacy" → "Ads").
6. Analytics
The Game uses Firebase Analytics to understand how the Game is used so we can improve it, identify problems, and measure overall performance.
Analytics events are limited to a small, fixed set of gameplay and navigation signals. No event contains your name, email, precise location, or free-text you enter. The events currently recorded are:
- Game session started
- Game over (including the score, best score, approximate survival time, and whether a new best score was achieved for that session)
- Game paused / resumed / restarted
- Returned to the home screen
- Settings screen opened
- "How to play" screen opened
- An interstitial ad was shown
- An ad failed to load or display (including the ad format and a short technical reason)
Firebase Analytics also automatically collects certain information (such as device information, app version, and session/engagement data) as described in Google's documentation on Analytics data collection.
We use analytics information only in aggregate to:
- understand which features are used and how sessions progress;
- find and fix gameplay and stability issues;
- measure and improve game performance and the player experience.
7. Crash Reporting
The Game uses Firebase Crashlytics to detect and diagnose crashes and stability problems.
When the Game crashes or encounters a serious error, Crashlytics may collect:
- a crash stack trace and the type of error;
- device information (model, operating system version, memory/state at the time of the crash);
- the app version;
- limited diagnostic context, including the current game state (for example, "menu", "playing", "game over") and the anonymous Firebase identifier so that multiple reports from the same installation can be grouped.
Crashlytics does not collect the contents of your messages, contacts, photos, passwords, or similar personal content. Crash data is used only to identify, prioritize, and fix defects.
8. Consent and Privacy Choices
The Game uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to manage advertising consent where it is required.
- If you are located in a region where consent is required (for example, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland), you may be shown a consent message before personalized advertising data processing takes place. Your choices there determine whether you receive personalized or non-personalized ads.
- In other regions, this message may not be shown, and advertising operates according to your device settings and applicable law.
- The advertising SDK independently enforces whether personalized ads may be requested based on the consent information it has.
Privacy and consent options can vary depending on your location and the law that applies to you.
You can also control ad personalization and reset your advertising identifier in your Android device settings.
9. How We Use Information
Information described in this policy is used to:
- run the Game and keep your local settings and best score on your device;
- provide a stable anonymous app session;
- display and cap the frequency of advertising, and measure ad delivery;
- understand how the Game is used and improve gameplay and features;
- detect, diagnose, and fix crashes and technical problems;
- protect against invalid activity, fraud, and abuse;
- comply with legal obligations.
We do not use this information to build a profile of you as an identified individual, and we do not sell personal information.
10. How Information Is Shared
CodeDrift Studio does not operate its own analytics, advertising, or account servers. Information is processed by the third-party service providers that are built into the Game:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics, Installations) — Firebase privacy
- Google AdMob / Google (advertising and advertising measurement) — Google privacy
- Google User Messaging Platform (advertising consent management)
- Google Play services / Google Play (app distribution and delivery)
- Unity (the game engine the Game is built with) — Unity privacy
Each of these providers processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy and its agreements with us. They may process data on servers located in other countries (see Section 14).
We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the Developer.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing.
11. Data Retention
- Data stored on your device (best score, settings, and the local technical key) is kept until you delete the Game's data or uninstall the Game.
- Data processed by Firebase and AdMob is retained according to Google's applicable retention policies and the configuration of those services. Analytics and advertising data retention is subject to Google's controls and documented defaults; crash data is retained for a limited period as described by Firebase Crashlytics.
Actual retention periods vary depending on the purpose of processing, the service provider's policies, legal requirements, and operational needs. We do not guarantee a fixed deletion date for data held by third-party providers.
12. Data Deletion
Data stored on your device: You can remove all locally stored data at any time by clearing the Game's storage in Android settings, or by uninstalling the Game.
Data held by third-party services: Because sign-in is anonymous, there is no personal account for you to log into and delete. To request deletion of data associated with your anonymous identifier and app installation (for example, analytics and crash data), contact us using the details in Section 19, providing enough information for us to identify the relevant installation where possible.
13. Children's Privacy
Save The Monkey is a general-audience game. It is directed to children under the age of 5 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
The Game uses standard mobile advertising and analytics that are not designed for a child audience. If you believe a child has provided information through the Game, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
14. International Users
The Game may be used in many countries, including India, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the United States, and others.
The third-party providers described in this policy may process and store information on servers located outside your country of residence, including in countries that may have different data-protection laws. Where those providers transfer data internationally, they do so under the safeguards described in their own privacy policies.
Your privacy rights and any consent requirements depend on the laws that apply where you live. This policy is intended to work across those jurisdictions rather than to claim compliance with every privacy law.
15. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction and the law that applies to you, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding personal data processed in connection with the Game:
- the right to access the data held about you;
- the right to correct inaccurate data;
- the right to request deletion of your data;
- the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (including advertising consent);
- the right to object to or request restriction of certain processing;
- the right to data portability where applicable;
- the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
Many of these rights can be exercised directly through Google's account and advertising controls and your Android device settings. You may also contact us using the details in Section 19. We may need to verify your request and, in some cases, may be limited in what we can do because the identifiers involved are anonymous.
16. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Locally stored values are obfuscated on the device, and data transmitted to third-party services is sent over encrypted connections by those SDKs.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
17. Third-Party Services and Links
The Game relies on third-party services whose data practices we do not control:
- Google Privacy Policy
- Firebase Privacy and Security
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services
- AdMob / Google Ads policies
- Unity Privacy Policy
Advertising content shown in the Game may link to third-party websites or stores. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those third parties.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the Game, to the third-party services it uses, or to legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above and post the updated policy at the URL where this document is published. Material changes may also be communicated within the Game or the store listing. Continued use of the Game after an update means you accept the revised policy.
